Finally! I got to try this place! The first thing I noticed about this place was the salad! It is HUGE! The cookies were HUGE too!
I was a happy camper.
I love blueberries. The fun part about whipping up your own salad is being able to put all your favorite goodies together! In this case, I found a whole bunch of blueberries and decided to add them in my salad. It made it so sweet!
Now time for the good stuff about blueberries:
1/2 cup of blueberries gives you one fruit serving. That includes 2 grams of fiber, antioxidants, vitamin C and Iron! The antioxidants found in blueberries is beneficial in preventing heart disease, cancer, and memory loss.
It’s also one of three fruits that is native to North America :]
Tealeaf Salad at Burma Superstar
Fermented tea leaves with a bunch of other healthy stuff.
edit from desi who took me here
She didn’t say, but it’s fermented tea leaves that have been imported from Burma. The salad also contains chopped romaine, tomatoes, jalapenos, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, fried garlic, toasted or fried pine nuts, and peanuts. That’s the vegetarian version. The non-vegetarian version also contains dried shrimp. The dressing is simply squeezed lemon juice. It’s absolutely heavenly.
“Who here told me about their blog?”
Today’s cooking class we made different kinds of stock and also made salad. The choice of salad was to help practice our julienne cutting. I’m so tired of cutting julienne way. I defiinitely gained more of an appreciation of seeing food cut this way..haha.
The stock was so fun to make! I felt like my mom! Skimming the scums, skimming the oil, and tasting the soup. We made white stock. While that was simmering, we also made salad..pictured above.
can’t wait for next week’s!
