U-PICK Cherries

Brentwood, CA for post-poned Mother’s Day. Out in the country, into the field. Rows of cherries trees ready to for our buckets to be filled. Climbing ladders, throwing fruits. It was fun and worth only 30 loots!

This was a fun adventure. This is a fun activity to do with your kids to get them involved with nature and picking their own food. They’re most likely to eat more fruits and vegetables if they are involved with preparing it. Find the nearest u-pick farms. Great adventure. Welcome cherry season!

strawberry cherry
Not strawberry and cherries, strawberry-cherry.
Is it a cross breed?
Most fruits are genetically modified through breeding. That’s how we got all these types of apples. I wonder if this cherry is an example of one.
It’s tasty! It also shows redish dots like strawberries.

Farmer’s Market!

Farmer’s market is a great place to go to shop for grocery! You’re saving a lot and you’re helping the environment. :]

Today’s produce:

Accompanied by sister and mother

YELLOW RASPBERRY? I’ve never seen it before! I quick look up, and I think it’s known as golden raspberry? It tasted the same as the red ones.

Cherry Season :] Cherries are high in pectin (soluble fiber) soluble fiber is good for lowering cholesterol.:]

Healthy food are the colorful foods. Not fried food that are brown and black! Colors=healthy=smiles. Vitamin A deficiency is one of the leading deficiencies in third world countries. You can find Vitamin A in orangy-yellowy fruits and veggies. To name some, carrots and mangoes!

Ended the day with a bunch of bags. Sister left today back to her university to take college course. She brought with her some healthy foods.  :]
